CV Maker ("we", "us") is a web application that helps you build tailored CVs from a master profile. Our service is operated by an independent developer and available at cvmaker.app.
2. Data we collect
Account data — name and email address, provided via Google OAuth or magic-link sign-in.
Profile content — work experience, skills, education and any other sections you enter.
Generated files — CVs and cover letters we produce on your behalf, stored temporarily on Cloudflare R2.
Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see card numbers.
Usage analytics — anonymised event data via PostHog (self-hostable, GDPR-safe). No cross-site tracking.
3. How we use your data
To authenticate you and provide the service.
To generate tailored CVs using the OpenAI API. Your profile content is sent to OpenAI's API for processing.
To fulfil payment processing via Stripe.
To send transactional emails (magic-link sign-in) via Resend.
To improve the product through anonymised analytics.
4. Data retention
Your profile and generated CVs are stored for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, which permanently erases all associated data within 30 days.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, port, or erase your personal data. Use the Export My Data button in Settings, or contact us at privacy@cvmaker.app.
6. Cookies
We use a single session cookie for authentication, and an optional referral cookie (30-day expiry) if you arrived via a referral link. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
